What is parenting therapy?

Parenting therapy at Sea Hope Counseling is designed for parents, nurturing families one step at a time. This type of therapy strengthens bonds through guidance and play. Through my parenting support services, I offer a practical and compassionate space, allowing you to build stronger and more authentic relationships with your children.

What are the benefits of parenting therapy?

At Sea Hope Counseling, I offer strength-focused and play-based strategies that help you encourage healthy emotional development, foster confidence, and nurture resilience among family members. I provide information and useful strategies tailored to your family’s specific needs and goals.

While there’s no manual for parenting, I am here to support you in strengthening family connections. Every family is unique, and each child brings strengths, needs, and experiences to the table. I focus on nurturing parent-child relationships in a loving, realistic way, grounded in practical and evidence-based solutions.

Parenting through play is a powerful tool I use for lasting success. By engaging authentically with your children, you can help them feel heard, seen, and better understood. Parenting therapy fosters responsibility, self-worth, and self-efficacy. Even brief moments of meaningful connection have lasting impacts. When challenges arise, there’s always room for repair.

What can I expect during parenting therapy?

As part of the parenting therapy experience at Sea Hope Counseling, I begin with parent consultation sessions. These sessions provide psychoeducation, guidance, and strategies to support your child’s growth, development, and success.

My parenting therapy approach draws from interpersonal neurobiology, parent-child interaction therapy, love and logic, and child-centered play therapy. These are tools that help families build resilient and stronger connections.

I am an autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) trained clinician with an insider’s view of what neurodivergence looks like. Together with you, I help create strategies that work best for your child’s brain chemistry, creating the safety and autonomy needed to flourish and build distress tolerance.

I dive deep into the autism and ADHD toolbox when necessary to determine what works best for your family. I find the most appropriate path for positivity, growth, and connection, and I follow up to ensure effective outcomes and lasting peace of mind.
